NewEarth is pioneering a new generation of renewable energy "sustainable technologies" beginning with ECO Pyro-Torrefaction (EPT). NewEarth's EPT plant is the world's first operating commercial scale torrefaction production facility. From this one amazing technology we can produce our renewable, drop-in replacement fuels, E-Coal and E-Oil.
Through our sustainable EPT process, the energy properties of the biomass are augmented and refined to create what is essentially the cleanest burning biomass fuel in the world for electric power generation.
EPT transforms the molecular structure of the biomass into a more refined fuel, similar to the energy nature of coal, but without any pollution side effects because all pollutants have been removed in the process. After processing, only the energy component remains in the biomass. The natural smoke-forming volatiles have been removed and the moisture and ash content is reduced to less than 1%. The ECO-Densification process achieves a higher heating value/energy content. E-Coal is then pelletized for transportation.
E-Coal can be used as a coal and natural gas flex fuel alternative. E-Oil can be used as a liquid transportation fuel and for electric power generation as an alternative for petroleum based products. Both fuels are produced at the same time.
NewEarth's EPT technology has the most efficient heat transfer system in the world and creates a totally self-sustaining production process with a zero need for external power once the EPT process is in full swing. This is the most elegant and intelligent way of producing renewable energy products to power our world.
This is technology that can be used today in the existing coal burning power infrastructure, without costly investments or retooling. Any coal burning electric power generation station anywhere in the world can immediately begin to directly co-fire a 20% blend with fossil coal, which fulfills the environmental mandate for a 20% CO2 emissions reduction. Or they can completely replace their coal 100% E-Coal for complete emission reduction. |
